OUR NEW YEAR’S MESSAGE | HISTORY FAVORS PEACE
By Abraham A. van Kempen
18 ‘Do everything possible on your part to live in peace with everybody …’
__ Romans 12: 18 (Good News Bible Translation GNT)
History tends to favor peace, as most of the 8 billion people on Earth support it.
True and sustainable peace starts in the mind, heart, will, and soul and arises from a genuine appreciation and respect for others.
Peace is a conscious choice to enhance relationships, resolve tensions and misunderstandings, and transform enemies into friends.
It is the fruit of love. It entails give and take, a dance with life, for life.
We must summon the courage to find peace within ourselves and seek the blessing of tranquility from above. Peace can spread like soothing oils if we relentlessly pursue the challenging and demanding path toward reconciliation, which often requires a delicate balance of give and take.
The wilderness becomes an orchard where justice thrives.
