The Evangelical Pope | “Our Father …”

Each week we let Saint Pope John Paul II share meaningful signposts to spark socio-economic resolves through justice and righteousness combined with mercy and compassion; in short, love.

               “‘Our Father in heaven …

__ Matthew 6:9-13 (New International Version)

The Vatican – 30 March 1985 | On our lips, in our hearts, is the Lord's Prayer that begins with the words "Our Father."

In revealing the Father, the Lord's Prayer also affirms humanity's universal brotherhood, starkly opposing any form of conflict or struggle among people.

The first desire of the “Lord's Prayer” is the glorification of the name of God, the coming of His kingdom, and the fulfillment of His will. If we consider this first, everything else will be given to us.

The progress of science, economics, social organization, and culture will not rob us of our humanity. Instead, it will reflect the love that gives life, meaning, and joy to human effort.
