               Europe, as you enter the third millennium, "Open the doors to Christ! Be yourselves. Rediscover your roots. Reconnect with your origins."

Throughout history, you have been gifted with faith, which has influenced your society's values in line with the Gospel. This impact is visible in your country's art, literature, ideas, and culture. However, this heritage is more than just history; it is a vibrant legacy that must be handed down, constantly shaping the lives of individuals and communities across Europe.

               Don't fear! The Gospel does not oppose you. The Gospel supports you.

It's inspiring to see how Christian values can bring together political, cultural, and economic groups, creating a sense of belonging where all Europeans feel at home. It also has the wonderful potential to foster a family of nations, offering meaningful inspiration to other parts of the world.

Given the vital role social communication plays, it's a wonderful idea for the Church in Europe to emphasize its connection to the vibrant world of mass media. Providing specialized training in communication and media use can empower everyone to navigate the ever-evolving language and modes of media communication today. This approach can help foster a more engaging and understanding community.

At the same time, engaging in social communication processes is essential to ensure they are more respectful of factual accuracy and human dignity.
