Palestinian children in Gaza are getting poisoned by the animal feed they are forced to eat due to Israeli starvation policy in the besieged Strip, Anadolu news agency reported on Tuesday.
Anadolu cited Iman Abu Jalhoum, an intensive care unit doctor at Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip, as saying that more children are likely to die due to food poisoning and malnutrition.
Dr. Abu Jalhoum told Anadoly that two children were hospitalized on Sunday after eating “animal feed consisting of barley, corn and straw.”
“The occupation administration is systematically implementing a policy of starvation. The health of children, mothers and the elderly who cannot be fed and cannot receive the necessary vitamins, is depreciating,” the Palestinian doctor told Anadolu, wondering: “How long will this hunger and siege continue?”
Israel has imposed a complete siege on Gaza and it does not allow water, food, medicine, fuel, and electricity to be delivered to the blockaded Strip.
The situation is particularly dramatic in the northern area, where food and drinkable water have run out and the Israeli occupation prevents humanitarian aid from entering.
According to the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Right of Food, Michael Fakhri, Israel is intentionally starving Palestinians.
“There is no reason to intentionally block the passage of humanitarian aid or intentionally obliterate small-scale fishing vessels, greenhouses and orchards in Gaza – other than to deny people access to food,” Fakhri told the British newspaper The Guardian last month.
At least 15 children have died from malnutrition and dehydration at the Kamal Adwan Hospital, the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza said in a statement on Sunday.
A sixteenth child died in the southern city of Rafah on Monday, according to the official Palestinian news agency WAFA...

WAR ON GAZA: JEWISH OPPOSITION TO ISRAEL IS AS OLD AS ZIONISM ITSELF

Protesters demonstrate outside of the New York office of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (Aipac), a pro-Israel lobby group, for its role in influencing US support for Israel during the ongoing assault on Gaza, on 22 February 2024
European and American Jews have been at the forefront of opposition to Zionism since its birth as a colonial-settler movement at the end of the 19th century
Last week, hundreds of people protested at the Manhattan headquarters of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the most formidable pro-Israel lobbying group in the United States, as well as at the offices of US senators who receive funding from AIPAC, demanding a ceasefire. New York police arrested 12 people.
The action was organised by the New York chapter of the anti-Zionist group Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and was the latest of dozens of Jewish protests against Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza.
In November, Jewish activists occupied the Statue of Liberty, demanding an immediate ceasefire and chanting “Not in our name”. The ongoing protests since 7 October 2023 confirm what pro-Israel groups have feared for the past two decades: that support for Israel is dwindling among American Jews.
In fact, a survey conducted by the Jewish Electorate Institute in June and July 2021 found that 22 percent of Jews believed that Israel was “committing genocide against the Palestinians”, while 25 percent agreed that “Israel is an apartheid State”, and 34 percent thought that “Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians is similar to racism in the US”. Of those under 40 years old, 33 percent believed that Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinians. These numbers were collated two years before the current genocide.
Like JVP, a Jewish congregation called Tzedek, founded in 2015, had initially described itself as “non-Zionist” but later redefined itself as “anti-Zionist”. The predominantly younger membership in such organisations also signals a generational shift within US Jewry...

ON HYPOCRISY AND GENOCIDE – HOW GAZA HAS EXPOSED THE WEST LIKE NEVER BEFORE

Now that some western leaders have begun to feel increasingly uncomfortable as the enormity of the Gaza genocide unfolds, a few, though bashfully, are declaring that Netanyahu may be ‘going too far’.
The Israeli genocide in Gaza will be remembered as the moral collapse of the West.
As soon as the Israeli war began, following the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation on October 7, every moral or legal frame of reference that Washington and its western allies supposedly held dear was suddenly dropped. Western leaders rushed to Israel, one after the other, offering military, political and intelligence support – along with a blank check to rightwing Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu and his generals to torment the Palestinians.
The likes of the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, went as far as joining Israel’s first war council meeting, so that he could take part in the discussion which directly resulted in the Gaza genocide.
“I come before you not only as the United States Secretary of State, but also as a Jew,” he said on October 12. The interpretation of these words is disturbing, no matter how it is spun, but it also ultimately means that Blinken has lost all credibility as an American, as a politician or even as a fair-minded human being.
His boss, President Joe Biden, as if in an infinite loop, has been, for years, repeating that “You don’t have to be Jewish to be a Zionist”. Indeed, he has lived up to his maxim, declaring, time and again, “I am a Zionist”. Indeed, he is...
